In these economic times, it's important to stay attuned for work opportunities that may exist where we wouldn't have thought to look! Today, I happened to talk to someone outside my local library who said they were recently having their kitchen floor redone by Empire Today, and in talking with the installers, she found out about Empire Today Careers. So she's now applying for a sales representative position and is happy about the prospect. She said she had been using the library resources for job searches, which she found to be excellent, and at the same time, she was saying how this experience showed her how important it is to also be alert for unexpected opportunities that may arise from our other life activities, outside of intentional job searching. In fact, this is a great opportunity to remind anyone who-for whatever reason in our busy lives, may have not thought of using library resources in a while-how valuable and useful they can be. Whether it's to do research on home remodeling, such as for getting ideas and doing some learning about the process, or using its resources for job searching; the library is your source. Like the woman I talked to, using the library, as well as, for example, looking into job opportunities with a company that you yourself are using for business you need done, are great approaches.
